A sixth-generation fighter is a conceptualized class of jet fighter aircraft design more advanced than the fifth-generation jet fighters that are currently in service and development. Several countries have announced the development of a sixth-generation aircraft program, including the United States, China, United Kingdom, India, Russia, Italy, Sweden, Japan, Germany, Spain, Taiwan and France.

Currently, the United States has two projects: the Air Force's ‘Penetrating Counter-Air'—a long long-range stealth fighter to escort stealth bombers—and the Navy's FA-XX. So far, Boeing, Lockheed-Martin, and Northrop-Grumman have unveiled sixth-generation concepts.

Can't wait to see Boeing new F/A fighter and the B21. Seeing how the 5th gen fighters like the F35 has a DAS which can allow 360 see-through awareness and track ballistic missiles, i can't imagine what new technology the 6th gen fighters/bombers will bring.

The only problem with un manned aircraft is the fact they could be jammed or even taken over by the enemy. I think they should maybe have "un manned" planes but with the option to "plug in" a cockpit if or when the aircraft has been compromised. After all even if you have a fleet of super drone fighters they are not much use if "hacked" and you don't know about it until in a full scale war.

I think the sub level message in this video is where the bulk of countries will go. Keep older aircraft frames and develop better missile systems and electronic warfare counter measures. A lot cheaper way to go

2. Heavy emphasis on jamming radar and other electronic warfare.
3. Active defense by laser to shoot down attacking missiles regardless of their speed.
4. Disposable external fuel tankage to extend range on the way TO target.
5. Deep integration of aircraft, missiles, drones, remotely piloted vehicles, ground units.
6. Combined turbo-jet / ram-jet variable mode engines for speeds up to mach 10.

        La Fuerza Aérea de los Estados Unidos ha revelado más sobre su avión de combate de sexta generación, la pieza central de su sistema de Dominio Aéreo de Próxima Generación (NGAD).

        El avión, que está listo para reemplazar al F-22 Raptor, será un caza multiusos, según el jefe de personal de la USAF, el general Charles Q. Brown Jr. en un Comité de Servicios Armados de la Cámara de Representantes.

        El jefe de la fuerza aérea, testificando sobre la solicitud de presupuesto para el año fiscal 2022 ayer, dijo que el papel principal del avión de combate será el dominio aéreo, pero también podrá atacar objetivos terrestres.

        El caza de sexta generación tendrá "cierta capacidad aire-tierra para garantizar, uno, que pueda sobrevivir, pero también para proporcionar opciones para nuestros comandantes de componentes aéreos y para la Fuerza Conjunta".

        Brown también dijo que el caza NGAD tendrá un mayor alcance y carga de armas en comparación con el F-22, lo que le permitirá operar a las grandes distancias requeridas en la región del Indo-Pacífico.

        Air Force Magazine ha informado que el general Mark D. Kelly, jefe del comando de combate aéreo, ha dicho que puede haber dos variantes de NGAD : una con largo alcance y carga útil para el Indo-Pacífico y otra más orientada a los rangos relativamente cortos entre posibles áreas de batalla en Europa.

        NGAD se describe como una familia de sistemas, con un caza de sexta generación en su centro. En septiembre pasado se reveló que el caza había sido diseñado, desarrollado y probado en el espacio de un año y volado.

        El principal funcionario de adquisiciones de la USAF, Will Roper, dijo en ese momento: "Ya hemos construido y volado un demostrador de vuelo a gran escala en el mundo real, y rompimos récords al hacerlo. Estamos listos para ir y construir el avión de próxima generación de una manera que nunca antes había sucedido".

        Brown dijo en mayo que la USAF planea reducir su flota de cazas a solo cuatro tipos de aviones, incluidos el F-35, F-15EX, F-16 y NGAD.

        El caza NGAD volará junto al F-35, con este último "la piedra angular, [el] F-15EX a medida que entramos, y luego tendremos F-16 por un tiempo también", dijo Brown.

        El Departamento de Defensa de los Estados Unidos ha publicado su solicitud de presupuesto para 2022, que incluía nuevos fondos para NGAD.

        La USAF está buscando $ 1.5 mil millones para apoyar a NGAD, un aumento de aproximadamente $ 623 millones en comparación con los fondos recibidos anteriormente.
